For a change from the usual 2K intervals we like to row to Lemon Bay Park, a 3500 meter trip one way. The basin in front of the park is about 1500 meters, it's about a 2,000 meter trip to the south end of the park. The trip involves following the land contours with avoidance of several shallow areas. In the photos below a typical boat route is in blue, from the launch site at Indian Mound Park to the south end of Lemon Bay Park.

Leaving the boatyard, stay wide around the point of Indian Mound Park, then immediately stay very close to land until after (north) of the boat launch docks to avoid the oyster bar

Next concern is to stay close to the seawall, then aim for the end of the marina's docks to avoid the shallows just offshore. Stay closer to the docks than this blue line, crossing the marina's access channel inland of their markers

The southern end of the park has a long shallow sand bar that points south towards Indian Mound Park, stay wide when going towards the park. Once past the point it's an open bay for 1500 meters to the mangroves at the next point.

Stay further away than the blue line, this is possible only during high tide.

Our traffic pattern is close to shore when going North, either in our usual basin or when going to Lemon Bay Park. Stay offshore when rowing South.
